We will be participating in "UMEDA CREATIVE COLLEGE 2026" (organized by Umeda 1-chome Area Management Association), which will be held in the underground passage in front of Osaka Station from Monday, June 1st to Sunday, June 7th, 2026.

This event is an industry-academia collaboration project that fuses the sensibilities of young creators with the Umeda area, and will feature artist Bas Costers, who is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In addition to exhibiting his giant handmade tapestry, students from three schools, including our school, will display tapestries created using recycled leftover fabric that would otherwise be discarded, under the theme of "Being Myself in Umeda," in the underground passage in front of Osaka Station.

CREATIVE SESSION: Tapestry making workshop by vocational school students

Through a dialogue with Bas Costers, I created a tapestry themed "Being Myself in Umeda." The process of hand-sewing my values and dreams allowed me to delve deeply into self-expression.

The exhibition features a giant handmade tapestry inspired by Japanese visual culture, as well as the two-dimensional work "Sorry Boy," which was created during a residency in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture.
