On June 25th in Dalian, China, the "Dalian Cup 2025," an international competition aimed at discovering amateur designers from across Asia, was held, and Takumi Kumauchi, a fourth-year student Super Designer won the "Excellence Award," becoming the top Japanese participant.

With "LIFE" as her theme, Kumauchi focused on the busy daily lives of modern people, expressing through silhouettes the image of people rushing out without even having time to change their clothes. She used a high-density polyethylene nonwoven fabric called "Tyvek" as the material to create a unique silhouette that seems to flutter in the wind.

One of the judges, Qu An, praised his work, saying, "His inspirational story and design were wonderful." Among the 30 finalists selected mainly from Asia, particularly China, he demonstrated a commanding presence with his unique worldview.

Leading up to the show, we went through presentations to the judges, model fittings, and meetings about the production. This experience on the international stage was extremely valuable as a step towards the future.

Our school has participated in the Dalian Cup for 11 consecutive years since 2015, and has consistently achieved good results, including winning the Grand Prix and runner-up prizes in the past.
